Another record was set for most tweets per minute during Sam Khedira’s goal 29 minutes into the game, which triggered 580,166 tweets per minute.

As we can see from Digimind’s social stats monitoring the game, Neymar da Silva Santos of Brazil was one of the most mentioned players of the night despite not even playing in the match.  Neymar missed out due to a fractured vertebra in his lower back during the Brazil-Columbia game.  Brazilian players held his jersey during the national anthem which started an emotional outpouring on Twitter.
