Infographic: Horse Meat Scandal Spreads like Wildfire

The horse meat scandal, which has dogged the food industry for several weeks now, has sparked fresh controversy with the news that Ikea is the latest casualty in the crisis. The world's largest furniture chain probably wishes it stuck to selling Swedish furniture instead of diversifying into meatballs.

In an earlier blog post we looked at how the horse meat furore has been playing out online, by focusing on the number of online news articles for each brand implicated in the crisis.

This morning we've taken a fresh look at the data and compiled this infographic to take account of online news circulating from 16th January to 26th February. It gives an overview of what brands have been tainted by the scandal and the amount of online news coverage generated.
